With a special needs daughter, we have struggled keeping our mattresses clean and urine free. It has been nearly impossible. Even when we would put protectors on the mattress, she would pull them off during the night and we would have a mess the next morning. We came across this mattress and decided to give it is try. It has been the best thing ever. The cover on it works great and she can’t remove it. When it gets soiled, we use soap and water to wash it off. Anyone in the same situation should consider this mattress. The mattress itself is decently comfortable. Of course, it is not going to be like one without the protection but the sacrifice is worth it. I definitely recommend this mattress and plan to purchase a larger size in the future.

My special needs son is a hard sleeper and wets the bed most nights. For years I’ve bought covers only to have them eventually leak through and then have to use nature’s miracle in order to prevent odor and hope to get it dry before bed. This mattress has solved that issue. Pull the sheet, wipe it down, recover and right back to bed. It seems pretty comfortable as well. My son only weighs about 130 lbs so I can’t speak for how this one would do for a large adult. For us, I think it’ll last a long time. I hesitated awhile before purchasing as it’s difficult to spend the money for something you know will be peed on, but this has been worth it thus far.

I am so glad to have found this mattress for my husband who incontinent every night. The mattress reminds me of a hospital mattress . It is quite firm and the outside looks like a plasticized material which can be washed off.
